Eatgreen is the labor and love of Sean Francis Henry, Wesley Kener, and Chad Drakeley. We created Eatgreen because we care about delicious local food and want to promote healthier agricultural techniques without sacrificing quality. Hydroponics accomplishes all of these goals. By providing a controlled environment, we are able to produce longer lasting and more robust lettuces and herbs without the use of chemical pesticides. We built our Waxahachie greenhouse by hand on weekends during the hot Texas summer of 2009. After 6 months of construction, lots of sunscreen and one torn bicep muscle, we planted our first seeds. Since that time we have been perfecting various greens mixes, adapting to the extreme Texas weather and learning what the Texas foodie wants to eat. We are proud to be local and absolutely fresh. Since our hydroponic greens are "living" with attached roots, the harvest occurs when a Texas foodie plucks the produce leaves in their kitchen. This ensures a harvest to table time of minutes!
